About

This Baltic 50 is proof of the versatility in the concept of semi-customisable construction. For all of the examples built, the starting point and sole constant is the hull shape, the work of naval architecture firm trip design.

The Boat

The interiors, deck plan, construction and furnishing materials are the variables that have let us launch 7 Baltic 50 boats, each one the very image of what its owner desires and totally in line with its intended use. The eleventh example of the Baltic 50 is currently being built, commissioned by a European client. This boat has all of the technological and overall design characteristics of the whole 50-foot line, but it has been customised to suit the tastes and needs of its owner. The hull is in sandwich material with a Corecell core. The hull and deck are vacuum laminated in GRP and epoxy. The deck is faced in teak and has a twin cockpit. It will have a carbon mast by Nordic Mast, with internal piston to adjust the main sheet and it will have two 65.5 electric winches by Harken. The anchor has a rotating arm that can be manually controlled and hidden below deck. The telescopic keel can reduce draught from 2.85 m to 2.25 m and does not interfere with the interiors, since the exclusive design has all of the mechanics under the dunnage. The retractable telescopic keel allows the owner to sail in low tidal areas and thanks to the reduced draught; it also makes port access easier.
